Scholarships
The Education Foundation of Palm Beach County is proud to support students through various scholarship programs made available through the generosity of our business and philanthropic partners. Please see below for scholarship opportunities.
HCA Florida's JFK Medical Staff Scholarship Program
The HCA Florida's JFK Medical Staff Scholarship Program provides scholarships and direct scholar support services to high-achieving students who are committed to a career in healthcare. This scholarship is made possible due to the generosity of the JFK Hospital’s Medical Staff at HCA Florida. The program targets graduating seniors who are participating in one of the School District of Palm Beach County's High School Medical Academies. Students in this program are required to meet high academic and participation standards. Students apply for the scholarship during their senior year in high school. Alumni who were previously awarded a scholarship may also reapply. Scholarships will be awarded based on a combination of academic achievement and need, with qualifying students competing for funds based on the merits of their high school experiences, volunteer work, and commitment to a career in healthcare.Grants
The Education Foundation of Palm Beach County collaborates with the School District of Palm Beach County to create programs that support the identified needs in our educational community. Through generous partnerships with the business community, philanthropic individuals, and organizations, we are able to collaborate and offer various grant opportunities to support programs serving the needs of the students, teachers, principals, and schools throughout Palm Beach County.
The Rhett Smallridge Memorial Scholarship
The Rhett Smallridge Memorial Scholarship honors the memory and legacy of Rhett Smallridge, a former Palm Beach County student who was known for both his kindness to others and his spirit of entrepreneurship. Each year, thanks to the generosity of the community, Rhett’s family will award one $10,000 non-renewable scholarship toward college or trade school to a Palm Beach County public school student in need who embodies Rhett’s spirit of giving and entrepreneurship.About Rhett Smallridge

First is Rhett’s love of people and desire to make their lives better. Whether with a big gesture or a small act of kindness to anyone he came across, Rhett always found ways to enhance the lives of those around him. He cared for others and loved making them laugh and smile, and to have a reason to do so.
Second, Rhett was an entrepreneur. He never asked for anything. When something needed to be done or he wanted to have something, he went out and made it happen. He started his first business, a pressure washing company, while still a teenager because he wanted a new dirt bike and was going to make it happen himself.
Rhett was sadly taken from his family, friends, and community that he loved and who loved him right back. Rhett was only 22. His legacy of giving and making lives better lives on through this scholarship fund.
